K-Pop royalty CL has finally returned and is already making headlines in the industry with her new album.

This comes after CL’s amazing appearance of “+HWA+” on the “Late Night Show with James Corden.” The music video for “+5 STAR+” featuring the Korean-Australian producer/singer Christian Yu, also known as DPR Ian, was also released. CL was also featured in Ian’s debut single, “So Beautiful,” released on October 26. The music video of the former 2NE1 is certainly highly regarded. But Christian’s entering the same music video is another excuse to check on loving it.

The synergy between the two is excellent and shows by “+5 STAR+.” Influenced by the film “Blue Valentine” and Rihanna’s “We Found Love” ft. Calvin Harris, the video shows the couple in a number of intimate situations, from sunset canoe drives to barefoot dance in the kitchen.

“I can’t stop thinking of you,” CL sings as the fireworks burst-a reflection of the passion that arose between the two. CL’s vocals are extremely smooth, and her excellent performance made the music video sound like a movie. Netizens can’t resist splashing over the pair, going as far as deeming them the perfect “couple goals.” There’s something so pure and unaltered about how CL’s voice combines with the romantic scenes presented in the music video that it’s very hard not to fall in love with her.

Lee Chae-rin, best known as CL, is a South Korean rapper and songwriter. Born in Seoul, South Korea, she spent most of her early childhood in Japan and France, where she also studied languages. CL studied at JYP Entertainment before entering YG Entertainment at the age of 15 and debuted as a 2NE1 girl in 2009. The group has been one of the most popular and influential girl groups in South Korea with fans, not only in Korea, but all over the world.

In 2015, 2NE1 entered an indefinite hiatus in the sense of the conflict with one of the founders. In November 2016, YG Entertainment publicly declared the breakup of 2NE1 after nearly two years of a split.

She was signed in YG Entertainment until December 2019. Shortly after leaving the label, she launched her solo EP album “In the Name of Love,” which consisted of previously unreleased songs written within three years of her single “Lifted.” After the hiatus of the girl band, CL began her solo career in the United States.

Fans expected CL to join the P Country, which also signed Jessi, HyunA, and DAWN. CL had other ideas, though. On September 12, the singer revealed that she was working on a new record, which would be released later this year. Two days later, she posted a music video for the song “Post Up a track on her upcoming album.

On October 29, she released two songs, “+HWA+” and “+5 STAR+,” which were co-written by former labelmates and members of Epik High Tablo. At the same time, she revealed that her latest “Alpha” mini-album would be released on Nov. 30.

The enthusiasm of fans for CL’s return is immeasurable, and the response to the “+5 STAR+” music video proves it. The music video captured 2,810,198 views and thousands of messages from fans.
